Keeping up the Habit

I am still drawing a little each day. I did another lesson in my course. Not much to show for my work, but I see that I am getting the lines and perspective a little more like I want them. Slowly and steadily, remembering that there is no judge and jury and that drawing for me is about the journey rather than the destination.

I listened to another speaker today from the "Women in Language Online Conference." Irina Pravat spoke in her talk, "Learning with Compassion and Intuition,"  about taking a reflective look at our assumptions when we learn a language, to check into the why we may be experiencing emotions of guilt, shame or fear as we face the long road to feeling the language is ours. She suggested that we consider asserting that we are each the best guide for our learning process, that we are 'wired for language and adaptation'.

With this in mind, I thought about my assumptions around drawing and art, and taking a cue from Irina, sketched a few drawings today with the main goal being to play.

It is very difficult to make these types of drawing unambiguous without a heading.

A book I am reading- I think it looks more like a book than some of my past attempts.

Back to simplicity and lightheartedness - drawn in a cafe. Drawing can be a "in the flow/zone" experience. Very linked to happiness.
